Kenya offers a variety of activities, and nowhere is this more apparent than in its range of altitudes. High altitude Kenya offers something for everyone. There are refreshing hill walks through bird rich areas or more active hikes into mountain forests.
The mountain is Africa's second highest. It is a majestic monolith, which is home to one of the planet's rarest sights, Equatorial Snow.
Even on the shortest route to Point Lenana, which is 4,900 metres, trekkers should allow three days at the very least to allow for acclimatization on the way up.
Mount Kenya has been a favoured climbing destination for many, ever since British climber Halford Mackinder’s first ascent to the summit in 1899.
